Mark Denessen
CEO & Co-founder and Producer
Mark Denessen is the co-founder of The Bigger Picture, He is a creative force in international co-productions. A 1996 graduate in Arts, Policy, and Management of Film and TV, he joined the Dutch Film Academy where he mastered film production, planning, financing and line production. He also studied at the Media Business School in Madrid.
As a producer, Mark was involved in many successful projects: Thomas Vinterberg’s THE COMMUNE (Berlinale winner), remake series of KLOVN, Lars von Trier’s NYMPHOMANIAC and THE HOUSE THAT JACK BUILT. He co-produced the animation feature MONTY AND THE STREET PARTY (selected at Berlinale), the British period drama series CATHERINE THE GREAT (nominated for a Golden Globe), and feminist horror drama THE OTHER LAMB. He recently co-produced Oscar Winner ANOTHER ROUND, as well as the final season of Lars von Trier’s cult series THE KINGDOM EXODUS and animation series MONSTER LOVING MANIACS, sold worldwide.

Calvin Roy

Based between France and Denmark, Calvin bears a diverse skillset encompassing fundraising, creative development and on-set production. After a Master in International Co-Production of Audiovisual Works in Strasbourg, he joined Zentropa in Copenhagen and then Ginger Pictures in Brussels where he strived on high-end European feature films and series. He is now consulting for dozens of production companies across the continent, for which he raised 3.5M€ and counting within just 2 years.
Silvia Rexha
Funding Expert
A globetrotter and polyglot, Silvia, studied Sociology and Political Sciences in Belgium and Ireland. Familiar with the EU funding programmes after years of experience in policy work in the public and associative sector in Brussels, her love for storytelling brought her to us. She currently works for the Bigger Picture and Ginger Pictures between Brussels, Amsterdam, and Copenhagen. Silvia will happily consult you in English, French, Dutch, Albanian, or Greek. Between AMIF, Erasmus+, Interreg, Horizon2020, and Creative Europe, she has developed many projects and raised millions.
Sofie Havskov Jensen
Funding Expert & Producer
Sofie is a film production freelancer, based in Copenhagen and Athens. She is formally educated in Japanese studies and comparative literature at the University of Copenhagen and has since worked within the film industry, latest at Zentropa Productions.
